For Palais SL Magazine‘s April 2011 issue, my story on poet Jullianna Juliesse made the cover. She is a fantastic poet, and I loved hanging out with her and getting to talk about her inspirations and aspirations as a poet. You can check out the latest issue of Palais at Issuu. The entire issue is AWESOME…but I have to give myself a pat on the back for this cover piece. Any goodness you find in the piece is directly related to my wonderful focus: Jullianna!
Woot Woot. The March 2011 issue of Palais SL Magazine is live, and I have to say, it is a GREAT issue. Just reading through all the goodies we have for you guys made me proud to say I’m a Palais SL Reporter, 🙂
In this issue, I wrote an article title, “The Building of a Family.” Anyone who has been on SL for some time will notice that many people have families–mothers, fathers, children, grandchildren, etc. And it’s not just about the traditional familial definition of family either. Even I have a family (well several, actually), and it grows every day as my children have children and add to the brood. I even have a great grandchild…didn’t even have to age to get her! This idea of family was interesting to me, and so I talked to a few people who have families in SL to ask about its appeal. Check it out, and if you have a family in SL, share your thoughts about the experience! My article starts on page 52. Here’s the [LINK] to the issue at Issuu.com.
I am in love with the latest issue of Palais Magazine, and know it’s not because I’m featured in it twice, LOL Though that IS tres cool. It seems like every new issue of Palais is taking their game higher, writing the pieces that some mags won’t touch, and expressing opinions that some might feel better to keep in the mind that printed upon the page.
In this issue, I have a creative and a journalistic piece in the magazine. “Death by Woman: A Nicotine-induced Ramble” is short short about a person who loved and lamented over a woman who caused more angst than love. My article “Growing Up Roissy: Tale of Three Galleries,” looks at three popular art galleries that lived on the sim Roissy and their history there. I’ve already seen some of the thoughts about the article and there are people not happy, but as a newbie to the world of SL art, I was unbiased and worked to tell a story from my perspective and not others.
See for yourself; come find me inworld and IM for me a copy of the latest Palais magazine!
Well, I’m on a roll. This week I had a piece air at Virtual Writers, Inc., my third article for SL Enquirer will go live tomorrow, UNITY, as previously announced, was spotlighted in an article for ICON magazine, and my premiere piece, a poem titled “The Life and Love of Ink,” has gone live in this month’s Palais Magazine.
I will be doing a combination of fiction/poetry and journalistic articles for the magazine, and I’m very excited. Just another way to learn more, better my writing, and get noticed! Check out Palais Magazine inworld. This month’s issue is AWESOME–and so not because my piece is in it. Hard-hitting, opinionated articles on various topics related to art, culture, and opinion can be found within the pages.
For the peeps who check me out here…here is my poem from the magazine!
